Scripture to Superheroes
What if true heroism isn’t found in Hollywood’s blockbuster tales but in the quiet, steadfast faith of everyday individuals? On today's episode of Renewed Mindsets, we challenge the glittering image of heroes presented by movies and offer a refreshing perspective rooted in the Bible. Through an exploration of biblical stories and scriptures, we reveal how heroism often blossoms from unassuming actions and unwavering faith rather than grand feats. By retracing the journeys of figures like Noah, Moses, David, and Paul, we uncover the transformative power of faith and resilience, proving that anyone can be a hero in God's eyes.
Join us as we reflect on the humble beginnings and growth of these biblical champions and draw insightful parallels with modern superheroes and real-life inspirations like Chris Pratt. 00:00:00.561 --> 00:00:02.205
Coming up on Renewed Mindsets.
00:00:02.205 --> 00:00:03.790
What is a hero to you?
00:00:03.790 --> 00:00:06.067
A hero kills people, people that we should harm.
00:00:06.067 --> 00:00:08.628
A hero is part human and part supernatural.
00:00:08.628 --> 00:00:12.730
A hero is born out of a childhood trauma or out of a disaster.
00:00:12.730 --> 00:00:15.108
I believe you're thinking of a superhero.
00:00:15.108 --> 00:00:16.646
We all have a hero in our heart.
00:00:16.646 --> 00:00:19.647
Michael, let's go boys.
00:00:25.262 --> 00:00:32.984
Hey, welcome to Renewed Mindsets, the totally awesome podcast for Gen Xers who are ready to bust a move with the hand we were dealt.
00:00:32.984 --> 00:00:39.908
I'm Rick, and if you're feeling discontent with the way life has turned out, well, we're the goonies you're looking for.
00:00:39.908 --> 00:00:49.527
We're here to guide you in purging what you think you know, breaking free from conforming to this world and transforming your mind into the Christ-centered powerhouse.
00:00:49.527 --> 00:00:50.652
It was destined to be.
00:00:50.652 --> 00:00:53.548
Calm that mullet and grab a can of new Coke.
00:00:53.548 --> 00:00:55.125
It's time to get radical.
00:00:55.125 --> 00:00:57.307
Dude, I'm so glad you're here.
00:01:00.280 --> 00:01:01.704
I love a good action movie.
00:01:01.704 --> 00:01:11.129
Even when the odds are against the hero, they sometimes somehow manage to turn things around and by the end, the universe is safe once again.
00:01:11.129 --> 00:01:13.424
Now, why does this matter?
00:01:13.424 --> 00:01:23.055
Now, as a podcaster with an email, I hear at least one really sad story every day, sometimes two or three.
00:01:23.055 --> 00:01:28.081
And if you spend your day reading these things and helping others.
00:01:28.081 --> 00:01:29.382
You know what it's like.
00:01:30.825 --> 00:01:39.606
So when I'm done for the day, I'm not in the mood to go home and watch some tear-jerking movie or anything that's overly emotional.
00:01:39.606 --> 00:01:42.671
I've had my fill of feelings for the day.
00:01:42.671 --> 00:01:46.596
What I need is to see things blowing up.
00:01:46.596 --> 00:01:49.147
The more over the top, the better.
00:01:49.147 --> 00:01:59.313
I want explosions in space that make sound, even though, as a product of the 80s, I know that in space no one can hear you scream.
00:01:59.313 --> 00:02:01.606
The more aliens, the better.
00:02:01.606 --> 00:02:05.109
I just want to escape from the real world for a while.
00:02:05.109 --> 00:02:09.371
I need to do something totally unreal.
00:02:09.371 --> 00:02:18.033
Hollywood is great at distorting reality, whether it's an action-packed adventure or a drama or anything in between.
00:02:18.033 --> 00:02:20.206
That's why I turn to movies.
00:02:20.206 --> 00:02:24.043
When I need a break from reality for an hour or so, that's where I go.
00:02:24.043 --> 00:02:26.425
When I need a break from reality for an hour or so, that's where I go.
00:02:26.444 --> 00:02:32.931
But recently I find myself asking what really makes a hero a hero in real life.
00:02:32.931 --> 00:02:37.234
I didn't want some shallow, meaningless answer from Hollywood.
00:02:37.234 --> 00:02:39.956
How would God answer that question?
00:02:39.956 --> 00:02:46.621
And after watching countless action movies, I realized I still didn't know.
00:02:46.621 --> 00:02:52.024
It became clear that the answers that I was seeking wasn't going to be found in a movie from Hollywood.
00:02:52.024 --> 00:02:56.247
Is it even possible to be a hero in God's eyes?
00:02:56.247 --> 00:03:00.068
Should I be concerned with becoming one of God's heroes?
00:03:00.068 --> 00:03:05.331
And if I am, or if I should be, how can I achieve that?
00:03:05.331 --> 00:03:14.358
So, to find the answers, I decided to go to the Bible, looking for stories of heroism and the strength of heart needed to stand firm as God's champion.
00:03:14.358 --> 00:03:18.802
So what we're going to talk about is what I found.
00:03:18.823 --> 00:03:21.849
How do heroes, how do real heroes actually do it?
00:03:21.849 --> 00:03:29.087
Not just how they end up with the girl, or how do they keep from freezing in fear while everything happens around them.
00:03:29.087 --> 00:03:35.126
How do God's heroes trust that God is going to come through for them exactly when they need it?
00:03:35.126 --> 00:03:39.961
Where does that kind of bravery come from when the odds are clearly against you?
00:03:39.961 --> 00:03:44.448
You don't just give the Sunday school answer either.
00:03:44.448 --> 00:03:46.389
You don't just give the Sunday school answer either.
00:03:46.389 --> 00:03:56.104
If you tell me that you just have to have faith, I won't be ticked off, because that doesn't offer anything practical, and faith is part of the answer.
00:03:56.104 --> 00:03:58.548
But it raises even more questions.
00:03:58.548 --> 00:04:01.092
Where does that faith come from?
00:04:01.092 --> 00:04:02.493
How do they know?
00:04:02.493 --> 00:04:07.283
Where do they find the courage to take that first step?
00:04:07.283 --> 00:04:08.145
How do they get chosen.
00:04:08.145 --> 00:04:09.307
How, how, how?
00:04:09.307 --> 00:04:20.882
I can't answer all those questions, but I think I've figured out why the answer is so hard to pin down In a single sentence being a hero for God.
00:04:21.963 --> 00:04:22.764
It ain't glamorous.
00:04:22.764 --> 00:04:29.182
Being a hero sounds exciting, so we expect the how to be just as thrilling.
00:04:29.182 --> 00:04:32.591
But in real life, the how isn't glamorous at all.
00:04:32.591 --> 00:04:40.045
The journey to becoming a hero is so boring, so less exciting than the destination.
00:04:40.045 --> 00:04:40.906
It's actually pretty ordinary.
00:04:40.906 --> 00:04:46.312
Than the destination, it's actually pretty ordinary, it's predictable.
00:04:46.312 --> 00:04:48.495
And it's not a secret.
00:04:52.439 --> 00:04:53.903
The truth is, anybody can be God's hero.
00:04:53.903 --> 00:04:55.569
That's why it's often overlooked.
00:04:55.569 --> 00:05:08.060
We assume that only certain special people with some extraordinary quality can be heroes, and when we see acts of great faith, it's easy to think well, that could never be me, I mean.
00:05:08.060 --> 00:05:16.100
After all, who sees Harrison Ford and thinks that we all get to be both Han Solo and Indiana Jones in one lifetime?
00:05:16.100 --> 00:05:25.872
Or, on a lesser scale, julie Andrews she played Mary Poppins and Maria from the Sound of Music all in the same year.
00:05:25.872 --> 00:05:32.312
It's very rare, almost impossible, something that happens to very few people.
00:05:32.312 --> 00:05:47.310
Now I wonder if we transfer that sort of rarity over to real life, allowing Hollywood to pollute and confuse reality, what would it look like Life is very prejudiced, and that's not the way God rolls.
00:05:47.310 --> 00:05:50.745
He's an equal opportunity, hero, maker.
00:05:51.826 --> 00:06:00.214
God is not the one who shows partiality due to a person's station in life or their wealth, and he can't be bribed and he can't be manipulated.
00:06:00.214 --> 00:06:07.052
Deuteronomy 10.17 says For the Lord, your God, is the God of gods and the Lord of lords.
00:06:07.052 --> 00:06:14.033
He is the great God, the mighty and awesome God, who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed.
00:06:14.033 --> 00:06:18.911
And in Acts, chapter 10, 34-35,.
00:06:18.911 --> 00:06:24.112
Then Peter replied I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.
00:06:24.112 --> 00:06:30.593
In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right Dang.
00:06:30.593 --> 00:06:38.646
Even those sent by Jesus' enemies admitted that he was impartial and didn't play favorites Matthew 22, 16.
00:06:38.646 --> 00:06:43.370
Everyone knew Jesus is a straight shoot and equal opportunity Savior.
00:06:43.370 --> 00:06:50.052
Nobody's more qualified or more advantaged than another when it comes to becoming one of God's champions.
00:06:50.052 --> 00:06:53.990
Now even look at all the famous people in the Bible.
00:06:55.459 --> 00:06:59.612
Have you ever been reading about the incredible faith of somebody and the courage and thought?
00:06:59.612 --> 00:07:01.125
Well, I could never do that.
00:07:01.125 --> 00:07:13.692
You hear about Noah building the ark, moses parting the sea, david defeating Goliath, joshua bringing down the walls of Jericho, even the apostles healing the sick.
00:07:13.692 --> 00:07:15.213
How did they do that.
00:07:15.213 --> 00:07:22.862
How did they know they would succeed and where did they find the courage to even try?
00:07:22.862 --> 00:07:24.947
You know, in every case that I can think of.
00:07:25.730 --> 00:07:33.882
The biblical hero's journey didn't begin with the exploit that they're best known for, and that's not where their relationship with God started either.
00:07:33.882 --> 00:07:40.754
The truth is, beginning at zero is a requirement for making it to hero.
00:07:40.754 --> 00:07:45.026
First you got to be a zero, then you be the hero.
00:07:45.026 --> 00:07:50.684
Right, I'm going to double down and say that only zeros can become heroes.
00:07:50.684 --> 00:07:53.288
Nobody begins at hero.
00:07:53.288 --> 00:07:56.415
Now, I'm a bit of a superhero nerd.
00:07:56.415 --> 00:08:06.290
I'm the kind of guy that has an opinion, whether Marvel superheroes or DC heroes are the best, whether it's a movie or based on the comics.
00:08:06.290 --> 00:08:13.826
But the fictitious superheroes, even the ones I thought of in the top of my head, they all have a backstory.
00:08:13.826 --> 00:08:15.925
Even the villains do.
00:08:15.925 --> 00:08:29.004
Something happened in their past that pushed them one way or another, or the guide that came along to show them the way was either good or evil and influenced them down the road one way or the other.
00:08:29.004 --> 00:08:31.790
But even that's a backstory.
00:08:31.790 --> 00:08:34.414
Zero comes before hero.
00:08:36.220 --> 00:08:45.014
Noah was already a righteous and blameless man that walked in fellowship with God for 600 years prior to the flood.
00:08:45.014 --> 00:08:54.168
Moses was 80, and he had a rocky start for 40 years and he was still arguing with God when he was called to be a hero.
00:08:54.168 --> 00:09:00.692
David had already killed a bear and a lion while he was still a shepherd Little boy.
00:09:00.692 --> 00:09:10.789
Joshua watched Moses lead the people for decades before his big day and yet he was still very fearful when God replaced Moses with him.
00:09:10.789 --> 00:09:17.889
The apostles had three and a half years with Jesus and made a lot of mistakes before they did anything noteworthy.
00:09:17.889 --> 00:09:24.307
And just throwing it in for good measure, paul, remember Paul?
00:09:24.307 --> 00:09:26.965
He was Saul.
00:09:26.965 --> 00:09:37.947
His backstory is pretty negative up to that point that we meet him and really he was kind of a hero to some people's minds back then.
00:09:37.947 --> 00:09:39.471
Just not in God's.
00:09:39.471 --> 00:09:44.889
Little did he know that he was one little short donkey ride away from becoming God's flag bearer.
00:09:44.889 --> 00:09:49.159
Little did he know that he was one little short donkey ride away from becoming God's flag bearer.
00:09:54.900 --> 00:09:57.010
In every case, I can think of the Bible's hero.
00:09:57.010 --> 00:09:58.860
His journey didn't begin with the exploit that they're known for.
00:09:58.860 --> 00:10:03.940
The hero's story doesn't just start with the heroic act.
00:10:03.940 --> 00:10:08.323
Heroes don't wake up one day and decide to become the main character in some epic tale.
00:10:08.323 --> 00:10:12.129
Even Jesus didn't begin his life with his greatest moment of self-sacrifice.
00:10:12.129 --> 00:10:13.510
He grew into it.
00:10:13.510 --> 00:10:16.495
Check out Hebrews 5, 7-9.
00:10:23.840 --> 00:10:26.587
To truly understand a hero's journey you have to know the whole story, from beginning to end.
00:10:26.587 --> 00:10:30.004
Books, movies, any kind of narrative it's meant to be read from start to finish.
00:10:30.004 --> 00:10:38.221
Now I know that might sound obvious, but, believe it or not, some people actually skip to the end first to see if it's a happily ever after.
00:10:38.221 --> 00:10:41.811
But that's not how the author intended it to be read.
00:10:41.811 --> 00:10:49.535
Reading a novel or a biography or a history out of order can spoil the story and make it hard to understand.
00:10:49.535 --> 00:10:56.211
Now, this might not be popular what I'm about to say, but Sunday school might have given you the wrong idea.
00:10:56.211 --> 00:11:00.684
Yeah, the way those stories are often told.
00:11:00.784 --> 00:11:08.708
You'd think that the famous Bible characters were born ready to fight giants and lead armies practically with swords in hand while they're still in diapers.
00:11:08.708 --> 00:11:10.927
But that's not true at all.
00:11:10.927 --> 00:11:18.683
They started out as babies just like everybody else, and grew up as ordinary people far from heroes.
00:11:18.683 --> 00:11:23.553
This is a great place to start unpacking the secret of becoming a hero.
00:11:23.553 --> 00:11:37.933
When you follow a character's development, you're going to find that heroes and even villains go through similar experiences that, if they're understood and applied, can help anybody become a hero in God's eyes.
00:11:37.933 --> 00:11:43.611
Thankfully, we don't have to look far to see what it takes to go from zero to hero.
00:11:43.611 --> 00:11:54.513
As I've explored and studied the Bible for this podcast, I've noticed several recurring themes that show how ordinary people become God's champions.
00:11:55.461 --> 00:12:10.522
Now let me say this Many of you might think that heroes are just a special kind of people, different from us, as if they were just born that way, but the truth is people who do extraordinary things with God grow into it over time.
00:12:10.522 --> 00:12:13.628
They face smaller battles first.
00:12:13.628 --> 00:12:16.933
They get experience, they learn along the way.
00:12:16.933 --> 00:12:24.912
They win some, they lose some, but both victories and losses build their strength of character and their determination.
00:12:24.912 --> 00:12:31.732
God places people in heroic situations that he specifically groomed and prepared them for.
00:12:31.732 --> 00:12:41.047
Their abilities aren't about physical and mental skills, but about having a strong heart and a deep, well-tested confidence in God.
00:12:41.047 --> 00:12:47.054
Greatness is grown If you think about it.
00:12:47.054 --> 00:12:48.842
Greatness has always grown.
00:12:48.842 --> 00:12:54.903
People with great potential become people of wasted potential if they don't choose growth.
00:12:54.903 --> 00:13:03.682
If they choose entitlement or chance or bribery or luck or some other way to get there, their potential is largely wasted.
00:13:04.884 --> 00:13:06.549
Let's go back to Hollywood for a second.
00:13:06.549 --> 00:13:10.020
This isn't found in a movie script, but in real life.
00:13:10.020 --> 00:13:17.793
Now, while I was looking up Harrison Ford and Julie Andrews that I talked about earlier, I just checked out Chris Pratt's IMDb.
00:13:17.793 --> 00:13:19.846
Now you know Chris Pratt.
00:13:19.846 --> 00:13:25.852
He played Owen Grady in Jurassic World and he played Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy.
00:13:25.852 --> 00:13:28.828
But Chris Pratt was anything but a hero.
00:13:28.828 --> 00:13:47.302
If you get on the IMDb and you go way down on the credits list, you see some titled miscellaneous crew and you're going to find his name beside assistant to the producers on a movie called the steel from 1995.
00:13:47.322 --> 00:13:52.928
Now, since Chris Pratt was born in 1979, that made him about 16 years old.
00:13:52.928 --> 00:14:02.568
Now I don't know what that job entailed, but I kind of see an errand boy running around fetching Starbucks and making copies.
00:14:02.568 --> 00:14:06.809
Now for sure that was formative for him.
00:14:06.809 --> 00:14:16.908
It absolutely gave him an appetite and a vision and even some idea of the behind-the-scenes workings of a Hollywood movie set.
00:14:16.908 --> 00:14:24.890
Even Star-Lord had an unheroic backstory, and it's not luck.
00:14:26.352 --> 00:14:32.023
Do I even need to say that it takes work and consistency and determination to become a hero?
00:14:32.023 --> 00:14:34.445
Listen to what I'm saying.
00:14:34.445 --> 00:14:35.726
To become a hero, listen to what I'm saying.
00:14:35.726 --> 00:14:41.030
Heroic results are the product of a personal choice, not some random selection.
00:14:41.030 --> 00:15:00.720
God's heroes are not the result of activating a massive dormant gene, some kind of potential, inside their body, but it's little steps of everyday bravery by everyday people.
00:15:03.100 --> 00:15:05.539
Every single Bible character that eventually became the subject of a children's Bible story had a moment in their life.
00:15:05.539 --> 00:15:08.027
No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:15:08.027 --> 00:15:18.703
They had multiple moments in their lives where they were faced with a decision to do something that eventually added up to their heroic growth.
00:15:18.703 --> 00:15:27.765
God's heroes, or their pre-heroes, his pre-heroes, had to choose to bloom where they were planted.
00:15:27.765 --> 00:15:33.240
I got some examples of these pre-heroes in the Bible.
00:15:33.240 --> 00:15:35.909
Look at Joseph he was a servant.
00:15:35.909 --> 00:15:39.529
Look at how he was as a servant and later on in jail.
00:15:39.529 --> 00:15:44.750
Moses on the backside of the desert before the burning bush moment.
00:15:44.750 --> 00:15:49.730
Dwight Schrute serving as assistant to the regional manager, michael Scott.
00:15:49.730 --> 00:15:54.250
Joshua as Moses' apprentice.
00:15:54.250 --> 00:15:57.928
David tending the sheep in the fields.
00:15:57.928 --> 00:16:05.913
Jesus' disciples facing confusing or controversial teachings that challenge their traditions and leaders.
00:16:05.913 --> 00:16:09.770
One of these things is not like the others.
00:16:09.770 --> 00:16:20.292
Sorry, I'm really on a Dwight Schrute kick today, but there's countless more Many heroes whose stories aren't even recorded in the Bible or historic records.
00:16:21.320 --> 00:16:30.092
Heroic actions aren't about unlocking some hidden genetic potential, but the result of small acts of bravery every day by ordinary people.
00:16:30.092 --> 00:16:59.484
God seeks men and women who serve faithfully, right where they are, whether it's their job or their position, whether it's glorious or humble, whether they're being watched or they're alone, whether there seems to be room for advancement or not, whether it aligns with their previous interests and dreams or not, whether it fits with what God had revealed about their future or not, whether it see what I mean.
00:16:59.484 --> 00:17:08.500
The key is not to be in the right place at the right time, which is out of our control and it can't be staged.
00:17:08.500 --> 00:17:18.200
The secret is to be the right person when the opportunity comes to do the mundane and ordinary with extraordinary faithfulness.
00:17:18.200 --> 00:17:26.979
People don't become heroes as a result of happenstance and luck, but by consistency and integrity.
00:17:26.979 --> 00:17:32.151
Say it another way God's heroes are not fortunate.
00:17:32.151 --> 00:17:40.692
They're faithful Heroes, don't sit around and do little or nothing, waiting for the heroic time to come to them.
00:17:40.692 --> 00:17:49.672
They get up and they do what's in front of them, and they're ready to seize the moment when providence gives them the opportunity of a lifetime.
00:17:49.672 --> 00:17:53.246
They pray to God and row toward the shore.
00:17:53.246 --> 00:18:09.579
They do the last thing God told them to do until God gives them a new thing to do, and then they do it in humble dependence on God, not in an arrogant, self-promoting independence, with stubbornness and selfishness.
00:18:11.566 --> 00:18:15.811
God's heroes aren't super saints, they're just regular saints.
00:18:15.811 --> 00:18:19.294
They're ordinary people like you and me.
00:18:19.294 --> 00:18:28.839
If you read only the end of their stories, it's easy to think that they were extraordinary super saints or even a little bit crazy.
00:18:28.839 --> 00:18:35.337
It's natural to look at their incredible acts of courage and faith and think that they were far from ordinary.
00:18:35.337 --> 00:18:48.477
But when you look more closely at their journeys, especially at the start, it's rarely the case, and the Bible makes no effort to gloss over their warts and scars.
00:18:48.477 --> 00:18:55.357
They were all born the same way and put their pants or their skirts on one leg at a time.
00:18:55.357 --> 00:19:08.807
Their humble beginnings are the perfect place where you can follow God's lead, step after step after step after step, if you feel rather normal or unexceptionable.
00:19:08.807 --> 00:19:11.310
Listen to me, you're in good company.
00:19:11.310 --> 00:19:16.885
Listen to me, you have the makings of greatness in you.
00:19:16.885 --> 00:19:22.573
Listen to me, you are hero material.
00:19:24.615 --> 00:19:34.672
Take a look at the qualifications to be an elder in 1 and 2 Timothy and in Titus, in 1 Timothy, 3, 1 through 13,.
00:19:34.672 --> 00:19:51.212
You'll find that the qualifications are basically what every follower of Christ should strive for, apart from the specific gifts of hospitality and teaching that you need for the role of elder, and the description fits any ordinary person.
00:19:51.212 --> 00:20:00.137
The scripture even notes that church leaders should not be new believers to avoid the risk of pride and to falling into temptation.
00:20:00.137 --> 00:20:05.717
Now this shows that they need to have faced and overcome smaller everyday challenges.
00:20:05.717 --> 00:20:07.951
First, there's that backstory.
00:20:07.951 --> 00:20:15.258
Now deacons they got to be thoroughly examined and pass certain tests to prove their readiness to serve.
00:20:15.258 --> 00:20:21.295
This reinforces the idea Backstory, backstory, backstory.
00:20:21.295 --> 00:20:25.814
None of these requirements are extraordinary or unique.
00:20:25.814 --> 00:20:30.049
They're what any committed Christ follower should embody.
00:20:31.633 --> 00:20:37.054
Now truth these leaders need certain gifts, but those gifts don't make them into God's heroes.
00:20:37.054 --> 00:20:42.430
They're simply suited to their roles because of their backstory and track record.
00:20:42.430 --> 00:20:50.372
What really qualifies them is how they've proven themselves, including their reputation with people outside the church.
00:20:50.372 --> 00:20:52.978
None of this is extraordinary.
00:20:52.978 --> 00:20:59.678
Really, the more ordinary you are, the better suited you are for herohood.
00:20:59.678 --> 00:21:02.288
There's a good word herohood.
00:21:02.288 --> 00:21:06.778
There are no super saints, just regular saints.
00:21:06.778 --> 00:21:21.873
They were given prominent missions, but their extraordinary ability the fact that they are extraordinary comes from their faithfulness in everyday life, not from any kind of special qualities.
00:21:21.873 --> 00:21:28.405
The real difference isn't in the individual, but in the job that God gives them.
00:21:28.405 --> 00:21:39.037
God's heroes start as ordinary people and they're faithful where they are and they choose to trust God when he calls them.
00:21:39.037 --> 00:22:06.038
And now Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy, from Rick Yuhas If you ever go hiking on a volcano and you drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let them go, because they're gone.
00:22:10.086 --> 00:22:20.718
Hey, you don't know how much I appreciate you listening to this podcast, and if you're listening and you're regular, do you know that I have a second podcast?
00:22:20.718 --> 00:22:23.153
It's called Wisdom for the Day.
00:22:23.153 --> 00:22:25.753
You can find it at wisdomforthedayorg or right here, wherever you're listening to this podcast.
00:22:25.753 --> 00:22:26.397
It's called Wisdom for the Day.
00:22:26.397 --> 00:22:29.950
You can find it at wisdomforthedayorg or right here, wherever you're listening to this podcast.
00:22:29.950 --> 00:22:32.497
Just do a search for Wisdom for the Day.
00:22:32.497 --> 00:22:37.613
It's basically a daily podcast from the book of Proverbs.
00:22:38.795 --> 00:22:43.491
I read about two verses a day and do a deep dive on those two verses.
00:22:43.491 --> 00:22:52.836
Now, when you say deep dive on two verses, it's only going to be about five or six minutes, so you don't have to devote your whole life to another podcast.
00:22:52.836 --> 00:23:01.531
As much as I appreciate you listening to this one, I really want you to listen to the next one and I don't want to take up all your time.
00:23:01.531 --> 00:23:03.509
So give me five minutes.
00:23:03.509 --> 00:23:05.218
You can listen to that while you're shaving.
00:23:05.218 --> 00:23:05.906
You can listen to that while you're shaving.
00:23:05.906 --> 00:23:10.826
You can listen to it when you first get in the car and waiting for it to warm up or cool off.
00:23:10.826 --> 00:23:15.316
I guess now, since it's going to be summer, I'd appreciate it.
00:23:15.316 --> 00:23:18.489
If you like it, let somebody else know about it too.
00:23:18.489 --> 00:23:20.997
That's wisdomforthedayorg.
00:23:20.997 --> 00:23:22.781
I love you, see ya.
00:23:22.781 --> 00:23:27.169
I love you See ya.
00:23:27.269 --> 00:23:29.313
Well, that's all for this week's show.
00:23:29.313 --> 00:23:32.979
You know, the name of this show speaks my hope for you.
00:23:32.979 --> 00:23:38.127
It's taken from the words of Romans, chapter 12, verse 2.
00:23:38.127 --> 00:23:51.195
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing, you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
00:23:51.195 --> 00:23:58.592
If you enjoyed what you heard, do me a favor, please, and tell someone you know about it.

00:24:05.971 --> 00:24:10.016
